Christine Devine is a veteran television news anchor in Los Angeles. Christine anchors the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. weeknight newscasts on Fox 11 News (KTTV).
Christine has 16 Emmys and in 2011 she received the esteemed Governors Award Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. In 2018, she received the Lifetime Achievement Golden Mic from the Radio & Television News Association (RTNA).
In 2012, Christine was named in Los Angeles Magazine among the “50 Women Changing LA” for her work with foster care. For more than two decades, Christine has hosted Wednesday’s Child on Fox 11 News.
Wednesday’s Child is a weekly segment that is a showcase of children in foster care in need of permanent homes. The segment has aired for more than 25 years and more than 455 children have found adoptive families. Christine was honored in Washington DC as a Congressional “Angel in Adoption.”
Christine’s parents were adoptive and foster parents, adopting a boy from foster care and welcoming five refugee children from Vietnam into their home. Both parents were in the Peace Corps.
Christine is a proud Sun Devil graduate from Arizona State University. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Walter Cronkite School of Broadcast Journalism and has funded a scholarship. Christine is a member of the prestigious Board of Trustees and the ASU Leadership Council-Los Angeles. Christine was Valedictorian of her high school, Tolleson Union in Tolleson, Arizona.
In Hollywood, Christine has played reporter roles in the following movies: Independence Day, Cable Guy, Wag the Dog, Most Wanted. She has appeared in the following Television series: 24 Legacy, American Horror Story, 24, Rosewood, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, Prison Break.
Among her other news honors: Best Anchor Team from the Associated Press and numerous Press Club Awards. Christine received two Gracie Awards from AWRT-American Women in Radio and Television and the Anna Quindlen Award for Philanthropy Journalism from the Society of Professional Journalists.
Christine has received the following honors: Lifetime Achievement from Century City Chamber of Commerce, and the Angelo award from the Inter-Agency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect. Christine was honored by YWCA-LA, and by the Child Welfare League of America.
Active in the community and a frequent emcee, Christine has been honored before the LA City Council, LA County Board of Supervisors, Los Angeles Police Department and LA County Sheriff’s Department.
Christine authored a biography ”Finding a Forever Family, A News Anchor’s Notebook.” She also has written articles for Fostering Families Magazine.
